1. Introduction

Options Copilot ("we," "our," or "us") provides options trading tracking and analysis tools through Chrome Copilot, our web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.

We take your privacy seriously. Your brokerage data is yours. We don't sell it, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't use it for any purpose other than providing you with the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account Credentials: Email address and password (hashed, never stored in plaintext).
Brokerage Connection: We store a SnapTrade User ID and User Secret. We never receive, store, or have access to your brokerage username or password.
Preferences: Display preferences, notification settings, and configuration choices.

2.2 Information We Receive from Your Brokerage (via SnapTrade)

Account type, institution name, status, and balance
Current holdings including ticker symbols, quantities, cost basis, and market values
Historical transactions including trade dates, prices, quantities, and fees
Options data: strike prices, expiration dates, option types, and contract quantities

We do not receive: your brokerage login credentials, Social Security number, bank account numbers, routing numbers, or personally identifiable financial account numbers.

2.3 Information We Collect Automatically

Usage patterns and features accessed
Browser type and screen resolution (for UI rendering)
Error logs and performance data

We do not collect IP addresses for tracking, use advertising cookies, or employ third-party analytics trackers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide the Service: fetch positions and trades, classify strategies, calculate performance metrics, generate AI analysis (with anonymized data sent to AWS Bedrock), improve reliability, and communicate critical updates.

We never sell your data, target advertising, train AI models on your data, or share with third parties beyond what's listed below.

4. Third-Party Services

SnapTrade	Brokerage connectivity (OAuth to your broker)	A per-user SnapTrade User ID and User Secret, which SnapTrade uses to fetch your holdings on our behalf. We never receive your broker username or password.
Amazon Web Services (AWS)	Hosting and compute (DynamoDB, Lambda, Cognito, API Gateway, SES, EventBridge)	Your normalized trade/position data and account email. Encrypted at rest using AWS-managed AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.2+.
AWS Bedrock (Anthropic Claude)	AI chat and briefing generation	Your portfolio context (tickers, strike prices, expirations, quantities, and unrealized P&L) is included in prompts so the Copilot can reason about your actual positions. We exclude direct identifiers (name, email, account numbers) from prompts, but ticker-level holdings are shared.
Yahoo Finance & Stooq	Market data (SPY benchmark, VIX, earnings dates)	No user data sent — only index/ticker lookups.

5. Data Storage and Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest using AWS-managed AES-256 encryption on DynamoDB.
Our SnapTrade application-level API credentials are stored in AWS Secrets Manager. Per-user SnapTrade tokens are stored in DynamoDB in the user's own record.
User passwords are managed by AWS Cognito — we never see your password in plaintext.
The Service is non-custodial: we cannot move funds, place trades, or modify your brokerage account.
Chrome Extension legacy local mode (being deprecated): SnapTrade tokens and cached data were stored in Chrome's local extension storage on your device.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, delete, and export your data. California residents have additional rights under CCPA. European residents have additional rights under GDPR. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, contact privacy@optionscopilot.ai.
